I am aware of the misconception of what a sub/slave is. In this post I will include the terms "Dom", "Master", "sub" and "slave" because they aren't always the same thing. Not everyone views them as having different definitions.
My sub/slave isn't always in both positions. However, she is always my Pet and we share a very deep love for each other.
There seems to be a lot of people who still believe that having a sub and or a slave means it's purely sexual and or an opportunity to abuse someone else with implied permission.
Of course, there are also a great number of people who believe that because someone is a sub or a slave it means they are weak in mind and just for amusement. Or, at least that is my understanding based on the responses I have had to adds I have placed looking for a sub/slave. I also have determined that many people don't understand a D/s type relationship based on conversations I have had with other people.
Before you send your reply, I would like to give you some insight into my personal view of the relationship between a Dom/Master and sub/slave.
My sub/slave and I have talked at great length about the subject and do have a great relationship because of it.
It is my belief that the relationship between a Dom/Master and his sub/slave(s) is one that requires a great deal of understanding, compassion, and empathy for the person subject to his position of Dom/Master. In my opinion, a Dom/Master should always have a great deal of respect for his sub/slave(s). I personally believe that being a Dom/Master is a tremendous responsibility and I really do admire any person who is able to give themselves to someone else and who is able to submit to being a sub or a slave.
A sub/slave is a willing participant in such a relationship. That person is a human being and is subject to the same emotions, feelings and desires as any other person. However, those emotions, feelings and desires may differ from the "normal" in that the desire of the sub/slave is to serve someone rather than to have their own way all the time.
In my opinion it is the responsibility of the Dom/Master to really know the sub/slave.
By knowing, I mean spending time learning what that particular sub/slave's needs and desires are.
That can only happen if the Dom/Master spends time talking with and listening to the person whose desire is to serve as well as to pay close attention to responses given (both physiy and verbally) to any activities the two or more may engage in.
I do realize there are various different views of what a Dom/Master should be.
And there are equally various different views of what a sub/slave should be.
In my world, all are human beings.
All are willingly in a position they have chosen because they want to be in that position (with regard to this subject and presumption that you are looking for a relationship such as this).
Some people are naturally dominant and others are naturally submissive.
There are a lot of people who don't understand either position, and the result of that is a person going from one relationship to another not really being able to get what they need from the relationship simply because they don't know what they want or need as well as them not knowing what to contribute.
Whether or not you choose to be my sub/slave, I do hope you require the Dom/Master you choose to respect you and your boundaries (while, at the same time know when to push those boundaries if that is the desire of the sub/slave for him to do so) and to truly get to know you (intimately) before you submit yourself to serving him. For the sake of understanding, the term "intimately" is not meant in a sexual context.
I hope this short version of my position on the subject of a Dom/Master relationship with a sub/slave is coherent. For me, the relationship between the two isn't that complex. However, explaining my position to the point of someone else understanding it seems to be.
In short, I believe that the D/s relationship is actually a more natural type of relationship than what we see in "mainstream" society.
I believe that most relationships we see in our society are based on fear of allowing someone else to get to know us.
I do expect that my sub/slave(s) know me. I believe that any relationship must have trust as a foundation. The D/s type of relationship requires a great deal of trust between all parties.
For me the only way that trust can be an integral part of a relationship is that there be open communication and a willingness for everyone to be vulnerable to being known by the other person or people in the relationship.
